Bands Selected For the Grand Finale Hornbill International Rock Contest

          The Search for India's Best Band is over and we have the 9 bands selected for the Grand finale of the great Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013!!

This year HIRC was packed with various genres of bands from all the four corner of the country and competition was very obviously set to be bigger and better than ever! This year the bands on stage forced the audience despite the freezing cold weather to pull out their hands shoved in the pockets, jump with the beats and have fun with Music. The aim of the Hornbill International Rock Contest is Simple- to discover new bands and new music, and give the deserving winners a shot of fame, fortune and exposures.

The Audition flagged off on the 6th of December, 2013 which lasted for 3 days. The Participating Bands confronted with The Best of the best Bands from the Country and the Globe as well. Indeed it was a tough decision for the judges’ panel to bring out the best 9 bands out of the total for the grand finale. This year the packages of the winner are massive, the attention from the audience and media is enormous, and the bands are just Awesome!! However, it's a competition and the tagging of being the winner is not possible for all the competing bands. We have 9 Bands on the list put aside for the Grand Finale and the bands are

The Grand Finale of the Great Hornbill International Rock Contest will be held on 10th December 2013 at Solidarity Park kohima (5:30 pm onwards ).Hornbill International Rock Contest organised by Music Task force, Govt. Of Nagaland has successfully run the event for 8 consecutive year inviting local artist and bands to showcase original material, perform live and compete for massive Cash prizes and Packages. It is one of the best platforms for independent artists to become more successful and self-sustaining.

It's the 8th year of the contest hosting live Competitions for independent artists, where some of the best artists you haven't heard about yet, will surely impress you!!

The True School of Music (TSM), Mumbai and Blue Frog has declared to support and train the achieving bands and musicians by providing coaching modules, a headlining gig at Blue Frog and more valued around Rs. 30 lakhs. Apart from it, the TSM and Blue Frog will also provide travel to and stay in Mumbai, for a three month period to a select few.

In the individual musicians’ category, the best guitarist, drummer, keyboardist, bassist and vocalist will be awarded with packages in the form of scholarships for coaching modules worth Rs. 4 lakh.
In the band category, the most promising band will receive a coaching module at TSM, a headlining gig at Blue Frog, a tour of Mumbai and Pune with paid gigs and an audio-video recording, while the runner-up band will receive a coaching module at TSM as well as an audio-video recording.

The Package does not end there, Popular Mumbai based record label, Venus (records & tapes manufacturing company), has offered to record two albums on Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013. This was announced by Parwez Dewan, Secretary to Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, while officially launching the Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013 at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima.

First Prize: ₹1000000/-

Second Prize: ₹3, 50,000/-

Third Prize: ₹ 2, 50,000/-

₹ 30,000/- cash prizes for individual awards and lots of awards awaiting!!
