Hornbill International Rock Contest has kick off with seven bands
participating on the first day of the (screening round) on Friday, 6th
Dec, 2013-12-06- The following bands took the stage for the first screening
round; Dead NOTE from Shillong, Circle’s End from Darjeeling, We The Giants
from Nagaland, Infuse, also from Nagaland, Street Stories from Shillong,
Sycorax from Darjeeling and Ground Zero from Kalimpong (Darjeeling). Ashutosh,
Purab Kohli and Dirang Lungalang seated as the official judges for the event.
These screening rounds will continue till December 9 and the grand finale will
take place on December 10.
On this day, the inaugural of the Hornbill International Rock Contest, good
news from Popular Mumbai based record label, Venus (records & tapes
manufacturing company) has added another flavour to the event this year. They
have officially offered to record two albums on Hornbill International Rock
Contest 2013. This announcement was declared by Parwez Dewan, Secretary to
Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, while officially launching the
Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013 at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima on the
inaugural function. The two albumn will include one CD for the winner of the
HIRC 2013 and another CD for the nine finalists of the rock contest.
