The first International Rock Contest in the country- HIRC 2013

The Great Hornbill International Rock Contest and music festival, organized by the Music Task force, Government of Nagaland as we consider is the longest and biggest music event in the country and south East Asia as well. Attractive cash prizes and music loving crowd makes the event a unique experience for performers.This year the Contest has gone international and is witnessing some of the International bands in the Contest. The elevation of its status from National to International will probably grab the attention of the mainstream media and provide an opportunity for Underground bands to expose themselves. It is a stage, a platform for the local underground bands to put itself to a new perspective and arguably earn some fans.

Very obviously it is one of the biggest tourism and youth festivals in India and South East Asia as well, it’s time to gear up for the upcoming annual Hornbill Festival of Nagaland again, where over 3,00,000 festive goers is expected for this year’s celebration.

India’s biggest prize money for rock contest has been the most fun and successful event of theHornbill Festival extravaganzassince its inception in 2000. The contest is going to see the list of the very best bands of all genres across the country including some international bands at the newly constructed venue at Solidarity Park, Kohima from December 1 to 10.

The Contest Prizes:

First prize : INR 10,00,000/-
Second prize : INR 2,50,000/-
Third prize : INR 1,50,000/-

30,000 cash prizes for individual awards and lots more to be won!!!!
